Handling & Framing
How to Handle & Frame your Fine Art Reproduction
Congratulations on your purchase of a fine art giclée, by artist Vern Wayne Pond.
Your giclée (ghee-clay) was created using the most advanced form of digital printmaking.
This museum quality giclée provides unsurpassed color depth and life-like reproduction of the original artwork. It is printed on a specially selected heavyweight archival watercolor paper.
With proper care, your fine art should last a lifetime.
Here is some information about handling and framing your artwork and prints.
- Avoid storing your fine art in damp or humid areas, or close to a high heat source.
- Mold from humidity can be damaging to the paper.
- Use experienced framers familiar with conservation materials and techniques.
- Do not allow glass to rest directly on the art.
- When framed, there should be space between the print and glass.
- Always handle your art with clean hands, and use both hands when lifting, to avoid creasing and crimping.
- Never touch the image area. Fingerprints and scratches can damage your artwork.
- Ultraviolet light rays are harmful to ink and paper, so your artwork should be framed with a glass that filters UV light, and your art should not be placed in direct sunlight.
- To clean the glass, use non-ammonia glass cleaner sprayed directly on a cloth.
